This afternoon, HFD was dispatched for a Structure fire in the 9000 block of Oxford Dr. in the southwestern part of the town. Car 1, Station 4, and Station 1 responded on the initial box and due to the notes on the call Station 2 was added to the call. Engine 4 arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire with heavy fire showing in the rear of the structure. Ladder 4 arrived and went to work getting a primary. Car 1 arrived and assumed command while E4’s crew was stretching into the rear of the house.

Tower 1, Engine 1, and Engine 2 arrived on the scene and assisted with operations on the scene. Charlotte Engine and Ladder 28 were in the area and asked to join the party. Command used the Charlotte companies to assist with ventilation and RIT company operations.

After a short time and some hard work by all the crews on the scene command obtained a control time on the fire. We had several off-duty firefighters who came in to help out and to get some of the action. Mark, Whitener, Curtis and Brent we thank you for helping out. After some extensive overhaul our crews cleared the scene and headed back to clean up equipment. Job well done by all!
