Multiple 911 calls reporting the fire continued tocome in as fire units responded. Cornelius Fire arrived on location andreported heavy fire showing from a single story residential structure and addedDavidson Fire Department as the working fire company. Cornelius Fire assumedfire suppression and began an interior fire attack while Cornelius Hook amp Ladder44 set up operations. Huntersville Engine 2 arrived and laid a supply line intoCornelius Hook amp Ladder to relay pump if needed. Huntersville Rescue 3 andHeavy Rescue 1 arrived with additional crew and assisted with fire suppressionand the pulling of ceilings while Huntersville Engine 2s crew laddered thehouse and opened up the roof for vertical ventilation. The fire was knockeddown quickly with the bulk of the fire damage confined to one side of thehouse which included the living room and an office. Approximately 13 of the 2000sqft home was destroyed. Due to the homes location near the lake theCornelius Fire Boat was dispatched to the scene to provide water for overhaulfollowing the fire.
