p–13346106702110—-13346106702111—-13346106702112–At 1138pm Huntersville Station 2 and Long Creek FireDepartment were dispatched to a reported working structure fire in the 10800block of Beatties Ford Road. Huntersville E22 responded from station 2. Firefightersresponding to the scene via POV arrived and reported a fully involvedoutbuilding located behind a residence and Station 1 was added to the call withEngine 1 immediately marking enroute. As Huntersville E22 arrived on scene anHFD Firefighter EMT on foot was struck by a pick-up truck traveling northboundon Beatties Ford Road. Chief 903 arrived on scene and directed E22 to beginimmediate patient care to the downed firefighter while Long Creek Engine 3 and personnelfrom Huntersville Engine 1 assumed fire attack. An additional MEDIC ALS unit alongwith an ALS Supervisor were added to the call. The firefighter was packaged andpriority transported to a trauma center in Charlotte. As Long Creek initiatedfire attack they ran into issues with Engine 3 and Huntersville Engine 1 hadto relocate closer to the structure to provide water for the fire attack. Huntersvillefirefighters assumed fire attack and were able to extinguish the fire withinminutes of Engine 1s relocation. The out building was completely destroyed andthe residents reported they were using the building as a chicken coop. TheMecklenburg County Fire Marshals office is investigating the cause.
