On Wednesday night Stations 1, 2, 4 & Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue were dispatched to a structure Fire in the 400 Block of Gilead Road, next to the auto parts store. When the first truck arrived they found fire through the roof and went to work. HPD was requested to shut down Gilead Rd in both directions to allow for the firefighters to work. Unfortunately after our crews had laid supply lines down to fight the fire a passerby drove over one of the lines damaging it and interfering with the water supply for our firefighter inside. Fortunately the crews on the outside were able to get that situation under control pretty quick.
The building was under renovation and the fire had a big head start on our crews. All of the firefighters did an amazing job at controlling the fire and a big thank you to Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue, Mecklenburg EMS Agency – Medic for the help on scene.
Another big thank you to East Lincoln Fire Department for immediate station coverage and for running calls for us in Station 2’s area.
