Photos courtesy of Ken Bumgarner (Twitter: @DeepPurple51) of our swift water rescue box earlier today along I-77. We arrived on scene to find police officers and teachers from a nearby school attempting to rescue the driver of the vehicle. They believed that someone was inside, under water needing assistance. We immediately helped them to safety and then attempted our own rescue…only to discover the truck empty and the same truck from the call an hour previously. Turns out it floated downstream, under I-77 through a culvert and into a stream along the southbound shoulder near the school. We are glad no one was injured! Its been a busy day for us so far. Stay safe out there! Thanks to Long Creek Fire Department, Mecklenburg EMS Agency – Medic, Huntersville Police Department & Charlotte Fire Department, Charlotte NC for the assist!
