Huntersville Engine 1 HeavyRescue 1 and Ladder 1 quickly checked en route. Upon arrival Engine 1 found asingle story commercial brick building with fire and smoke showing from therear of the building. Engine 1 quickly stretched a 1 attack line around theside of the building to the fire and initiated fire attack. The fire wasquickly knocked down and contained to a lean-to structure attached to the rearof the building containing old tires. Additional units and personnel arrived onscene and ventilated the building and checked for fire extension. Followingextinguishment overhaul and ventilation was conducted and the scene was turnedover to the Mecklenburg Fire Marshall for investigation. Damage was containedto the rear of the building with some fire extension to the roof alongwith heavy smoke conditions throughout the interior of the building.
