The Huntersville Fire Department would like to officially announce the new, incoming Fire Chief for our Department. Effective January 1, 2017 Huntersville resident Jim Dotoli will take over leadership of the Department as Fire Chief. Chief Dotoli has been a member of the Huntersville Fire Department for 16 years and most recently served the Department as Deputy Chief for the last 5 years. The outgoing Chief, Larry Irvin, is retiring as Chief after serving the Department for …40 years; the last 20 years as the Fire Chief. We’re happy to report that Chief Irvin will continue to serve the Department as a member; but is anxiously looking forward to more personal time with family. The Huntersville Fire Department is a 3 Station Department (with a 4th Station under construction and a 5th Station in the planning phase) serving 62 square miles of Mecklenburg County, just north of the City of Charlotte and surrounded by Lake Norman and Mountain Island Lake. The Department has close to 100 members and responded to over 3,417 calls for service in 2015. Please welcome Chief Dotoli to his new role!
