The men, women and officers of the Huntersville Fire Department are excited to announce that we are partnering again with Susan G. Komen Charlotte foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation: 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women.
In an effort to raise awareness and money to support the fight against breast cancer; the Huntersville Fire Department will slightly change our uniforms for the month of October and wear pink. Additionally, starting today, the Department will sell similar shirts to the public so they too can show their support in the ‘Fight For A Cure’ during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Shirts will cost $15 each and ALL profits from the sales of these shirts will be donated directly to Susan G Komen to help advance the fight against Breast Cancer and to raise Awareness.
Due to expected demand, Chief Officers will carry shirts in the marked Fire Department Tahoe’s. If you see a Tahoe parked outside a station, they’re selling shirts! Chiefs will also be prepared to take credit card purchases. Also look for our banner displayed outside the fire stations, which we’ll be using like an “open for business” sign to purchase shirts! #OneTownOneTeam #SusanGKomen #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth
