We’re aware of a fire hydrant broken off at Wynfield Creek Parkway at Presswoods Lane (what kind of craziness happened here?)

We’ve experienced a high call volume & social media posting volume directed at HFD for this. Please understand, although we use and count on the fire hydrants for fires; Charlotte Water actually manages the hydrant system. A simple call to 311 usually fixes it.

We, on your behalf, called and spoke with #CLTwater and they’re now on it (they had no idea).

For now we will mark this hydrant out of service and will formulate a plan B if there’s an emergency. Thank you all! #OneTownOneTeam #Call311

I drove by this earlier and was wondering what happened!!!

Did what it was supposed to do, shear off. Had it been a gusher then they certainly would have known sooner.

Just set the hydrant up next to the chiefs car and write him a ticket for blocking a hydrant. Or take a drive down to the PD 😇

How in the world?

I fix them all the time...Easy

Is that a relative?? Asking for a minion

Andrew Sheeler

Thank you!

Where is Poplar Tent Church Rd?

Poplar Tent between 73 and Harris Rd is a complete nightmare. Two lanes, no shoulders, limited left turn lanes, ditches on both sides, and new housing subdivisions and a giant school going in to compound the existing issues. Meck County, but even more disastrously, Cabarrus County, have done a horrible job of keeping road construction on pace with development. It will only get worse and more dangerous.

Prayers for all involved and no one was seriously hurt. I was stuck in the traffic from Davidson. It was a nightmare. They really need to widen the road with traffic due to development that way.

wow that’s quite the oil slick!

Prayers for no injuries

Prayers for everyone involved

Drew Polly

Prayers that no one was hurt 🙏

Big delays.

Today Deputy Chief Ben Reagan and Tanker 1 assisted Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue with the NC Driver Operator Water Supply they’re currently hosting.

Drafting and Rural water supply / water haul were the key points of todays class. As a practical assessment requirement each student had to successfully pull and maintain draft, successfully set up and operate the fill site engine, as well as operate the tankers at both the fill and dump sites.

Retired Huntersville Deputy Chief Gary Reagan was the instructor.

Departments and equipment working together were as follows:
