At 2:30am, Engine 1 & Rescue 1 responded to a forklift accident at a business off Meachum Farm Drive. A medical helicopter was requested and Engine 3 was added to the call for the landing zone. Following a brief extrication process, using equipment off Heavy Rescue 1, the patient was freed and transferred to MedCenter Air for transport to CMC-Main with serious injuries. ... *HFD 2018 Call volume MID-YEAR update* (Jan 1-Jun 30, 2018) Total calls: 3,155 for the last 6 months.

Station 1: 1,876
Station 2: 728
Station 3: 283
Station 4: 268 (Station 4 opened in May 2018).

It's been a busy 2018 so far considering we're a part-time paid / volunteer fire department. Thankful for such dedicated members!

Those numbers are staggering, we cannot thank you enough for your service... I'd be curious to know what percentage of these responses are on I-77 alone? The dangers on that highway have forced many to the backroads which are also becoming full of more and more impatient/irresponsible drivers, sadly.

Wow! Stay safe out there. Thanks for everything you do to protect Lake Norman and the greater Charlotte community.

And I thought 300 fire call a year was a good many!!
