A busy day for the #Ville. Many of our calls today were for false Fire Alarms. Some alarms alert during extreme cold weather or when dramatic temperature changes create condensation on the unit’s sensor. Additionally alarms with old batteries installed will also falsely sound frequently or ‘churp’.
We recommend keeping a consistent ambient temperature inside your home, blowing out the alarm (canned air, by mouth or vacuum) – if its sounding frequently and replacing the alarm batteries during this cold snap! Remember if your alarm is ‘churping’ its telling you that you need to replace your batteries.
